Now that I have finished my magazine cover, I am moving onto my double page spread. A magazine spread is two pages that are next to each other. These two pages act as one single element even if those pages are going to contain two different stories. Below are double pages spreads that have inspired me.
1. This double page spread has relatively reflects the genre of my own magazine and the colour scheme. Instead of having the model to one side of the page like some double page spreads, the texts are surrounding the model who is at the centre of both pages. The title is big and bold which easily catches the audience's attention. The whole page maintains its colour scheme which is pink and doesn't use any irrelevant colours that don't match. Overall, I think this double page spread is unique and would appeal my target audience. However, I think that if the model is in the middle with texts surrounding it, the audience's attention would divert to the model instead of reading the texts.
2. Below is the double page spread that I would definitely base my double page spread with. With the model on one page and the rest of the article on the other page, I think it makes the whole spread clear and organised. Also, they used a close-up shot of the model to focus on her facial expressions and how it reflects the mood of the page spread. Similar to the previous one, the colour scheme is focused on one colour, orange. Adding an additional picture at the bottom makes the whole page less bland and dull.
